Lots of new covers, and a shipping update!
3 days ago – Mon, Oct 05, 2026 at 10:10:48 AM

Hi Folks!

It's been a bit since I got an update out. Sorry about that! But, we also had a little downtime between sending out packages, so there wasn't a lot to report.

Now, however, I have some fun new things for you!
First off, we have the cover finalized for the Space Wizard Novellas! You might remember we didn't quite get to the stretch goal to completely fund it during the campaign, but with some extra funds from the addons in the pledge manager, we were basically able to pay for the cover cost. Spoon of Spoonwood visuals once again did an amazing job, and we can now show off the final for you!

If you've read any of the novellas, you might find a few hints and easter eggs on the cover. There will be more on the back of the hardback! These should be ready to order in a week or so, and I'll have a small supply for conventions and things.

Second we also have the final cover for Pressure Magic, which releases on October 13th (about a week!). Serene did a great job with this one, as usual!

We've got three more books coming in November and December from the June campaign. I hope to order them all in the next few weeks to get them here in early November and ship out the rest of the rewards to everyone!

And that bring us to what's coming next from Space Wizard! Part 2 will be starting on October 29th, and the covers are starting to come in for this campaign! We have some great books in store for you, so make sure to follow the campaign. Right now, you can listen to an interview with:

- Athena Giles, about book 2 of Children of Sea and Sky, Dead in the Water

 - E.J. Isaacs, about book 2 of The Unforgiving Stars, Battle Tested

 - Heather Tracy about her new book, Anything but Ordinary

Follow the campaign!

I'll be back with more updates later, and an announcement when the new campaign starts on October 29!

Physical books mailed, and new covers!
about 2 months ago – Wed, Aug 19, 2026 at 01:07:51 PM

Hi Folks,

I sent out a bunch of packages last week, including the following titles:
Lucianus by C.J. Beshara
Aliens in New Florida
by Carmen Loup
Gunmaker by Chris Gerrib
Romance and the Gentle Art of Rocket Racing by Rena Rocford

So we're ahead of schedule this year, as Romance technically doesn't release until mid-September! I'm still waiting on the final touches for two covers to get the sticker sheets, but once I have those, I'll be shipping out another batch of rewards.

I will also be sending out the eBook of The Overarch Omnibus (previously tiled The Quirk & Moth Omnibus) later this week or early next week. Because we hit the stretch goal to get a new cover designed, all backers get a copy! And it's a really fun cover. We've got the final design, and I'm just waiting on the hardcover wrap to order the physical books. They're chonky, coming in at 1116 pages!

I've also just got the full wrap for my next book, Pressure Magic, which releases in October! Serene did an amazing job, as usual. She's going to add a few more touches in the sky, but it's basically complete. We'll get the final titles added soon as well. Take a look!

Finally, if you enjoy Space Wizard books, please follow our next two campaigns! We'll be putting up an exclusive interview with Mary Robinette Kowal soon for The Sapphics Strike Back audiobook campaign:

And we'll be posting author interviews starting in late August/Early September for our Year 5 Part 2 campaign, starting October 29th. This campaign includes Quirk & Moth Book 4, so if you enjoy the omnibus, this is a great time to preorder the next one!

I'll be back with more exciting news soon, along with maybe even a new, spicy direction for Space Wizard! Stay turned!

eBooks sent out!
3 months ago – Fri, Jul 24, 2026 at 12:52:49 PM

Hi Folks,

Thanks for getting those surveys in! I just now finished sending out eBooks for all the previously released Space Wizard books, as well as Lucianus and Aliens in New Florida, the first two books from our Year 5 campaign!

Please check your email and make sure the email hasn't gone into a spam folder. You have 4 weeks to download the eBook before the link times out. I'm happy to give you another link if that's the case, but downloading the first time makes everything smoother!

Gunmaker is the next book coming out, and you'll be getting that one very soon as well!

I've also received physical copies of Lucianus and Aliens in New Florida, and I'll start shipping those out next week!

In the meantime, if you're looking for more Space Wizard books, make sure to sign up for Year 5 part 2, coming in October! You can see out first cover reveal below!

  • Tide Tale - book 3 of Kristina W. Kelly's Tales of Trelvania. Continue the wildly popular cozy fantasy series, including Tavern Tale and Tea Tale!
  •  Anything But Ordinary - book 2 in Heather Tracy's These Dreams, with a new standalone story (but with some of the same characters) as her first book, Only a Chapter!
  • The Venus Vendetta, by Robin C.M. Duncan. Come back to the Quirk & Moth near sci-fi detective series, including The Mandroid Murders, The Carborundum Conundrum, and The Rigel Redemption, with Book 4!

  •  Purgatory Rift - book 3 of the Call of the Void series, by A.Z. Rozkillis, starting with Space Station X and Fractal Termiunus. A group of survivors is stuck in a seemingly endless loop of horrors just on the other side of the rift, and must plot a way to escape. Return to more lesbian comedy horror!
  • Battle Tested - book 2 of E.J. Isaacs' The Unforgiving Stars series. If you like Star Trek and Babylon 5, you'll love this series! Book 3 will be coming too. Stay tuned!

More books coming soon!

Locking surveys!
3 months ago – Tue, Jul 21, 2026 at 08:52:25 AM

Hi Folks,

Thanks so much for being quick and getting your surveys filled out! I've just got in copies of Lucianus and Aliens in New Florida and I hope to start sending them out soon. Because of that, I've just hit the button to Lock orders. After that's complete, I'll charge cards and start shipping books out! However, there are 8 people who still need to fill out their surveys!

Remember, we've got two more campaigns going on this year, and the first one starts September 10!

Mary Robinette Kowal will be recording, Lesbians in Space: The Sapphics Strike Back! If you backed the first one, I know you're still waiting on your audiobook of Lesbians in Space: Where No Man Has Gone Before, but I promise it's coming soon! Mary Robinette had a busy travel schedule in June, which delayed things a little, but I expect the final any day now.

CLICK HERE to follow now to make sure you get alerted when it starts!

We also have a slightly updated roster for the second half of our books for Year 5!  It's coming October 29, including:
  • Dead in the Water - book 2 of Athena Giles' Children of Sea and Sky fantasy series, starting with Waves Take Your Bones!
  • Bond of Wildflowers by Connor Lane. Enter a cozy YA fantasy where all is not as it seems between the fae world and ours!
Stay tuned!

Surveys going out!
3 months ago – Wed, Jul 08, 2026 at 10:42:03 AM

Hi Folks,

I have all the surveys created and I just pressed the button on the smoke test! That means 5% of backers will get their surveys, as a test to make sure everything works. If all goes well, I'll send out the rest of the surveys in a day or so.

When you get your survey please fill it out soon as you can. Our new books will start releasing this month (Orders of Lucianus and Aliens in New Florida are already on the way!) so the sooner you pick your books and extra swag, the sooner they get to you!

Also, if you are planning on getting the Space Wizard Novella Collection, be assured we WILL still be getting a new cover for that from Spoon. It's just going to be funded by my money rather than covering it with the campaign. Since we didn't hit the stretch goal, there won't be free eBook copies. There will be free eBook copies of the Quirk & Moth Omnibus, however! It's tentatively titled The Overarch Omnibus.

We've got some great new features for you this year, so read on!

NEW Book-chooser!

Since we have so many books to choose from now, I've had several readers saying it's hard to pick out which book they want. SO! If you selected a pledge level where you can pick a book (or three) from our catalog, I've added a new prompt with 2 options:

Method 1: shows how to use our filters on the Space Wizard website to pick what you want
1) go to the Space Wizard Book Page (see below screenshot)
2) Pick Fantasy or Science Fiction in Book Genre.
3) OR, pick Book Type and choose between Stand Alone, Series, Anthology, or MG/YA. (Note: novella-length titles are not included in the main survey paperback choices. They are included in the "One Paperback Book" or "One eBook" addons)
4) OR, pick what LGBTQIA+ representation you want to see between M/M, F/F, Bi/Pan, Ace, Trans, Nonbinary, or Poly!
You can then filter further by using one of the other categories, or pick a single Book Series you're interested in. When you click on a book, that page will also let you preselect filters for a similar book, if that's not quite the one you want.

Method 2:
I'll send you a "blind date" book
1) Pick the "Choose a book for me" option and fill out 3-5 titles, authors, genres, tropes, or some mix.
2) List any Space Wizard books you own to avoid duplication.
3) There's a new option for "I can't decide. Pick for me!" and I'll curate your book selection for you.
4) NOTE: this option is not available if you picked the "One Paperback Book" or "One eBook" addons. For this, use Method 1 above to select which book you want, if you can't decide.

Let me know what you think when you get your survey! This a work in process, so I want to make it as smooth as possible to match you with your perfect book(s).

T-Shirt Firesale!

We are also selling off the LAST of our Space Wizard and Lesbians in Space T-shirts, as the manufacturer has changed. You'll see a bunch of options like this in the addons section. These are LIMITED to 1-3 of each, so when they're gone, they're gone!

MOAR Campaigns!

We've got two more campaigns in the works for 2026!

The first is following on our Audiobook campaign this March for Mary Robinette Kowal to record Lesbians in Space: Where No Man Has Gone Before. For those of you who backed it, she's just finished up the last corrections and pickups, and we hope to get the audio files out to you in a couple weeks. Mary Robinette has graciously agreed to work with us again, and so we're running another campaign in September for her to record the second anthology, Lesbians in Space: The Sapphics Strike Back!

CLICK HERE to follow now to make sure you get alerted when it starts. There will likely be some special, limited quantity items!

Our second campaign is coming right on the heels of the last one, and will cover the second half of our books for Year 5!  Here's our list:
  • Dead in the Water - book 2 of Athena Giles' Children of Sea and Sky fantasy series, starting with Waves Take Your Bones!
  • Bond of Wildflowers by Connor Lane. Enter a cozy YA fantasy where all is not as it seems between the fae world and ours!
  • The Jax and Sanders series - book 3, by A.Z. Rozkillis. What's next for the grumpy engineer and too-friendly security officer, now they've traveled parallel realities? Come back for more lesbian comedy horror!
  • Battle Tested - book 2 of E.J. Isaacs' The Unforgiving Stars series. If you like Star Trek and Babylon 5, you'll love this series! Book 3 may be coming too. Stay tuned!

CLICK HERE to follow the page for author interviews before it starts!

Whew! I think that's enough news for now. If you're going to ConGregate next weekend in Greensboro (their new location), come say hi! I'll be on several panels, including one showing off the books in this campaign!
